Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is a Social Club?

The term "club" stems from the Greek word for consists of an association of people assembled together to promote sociability and communal activity. Social clubs became popular in Britain around 1709. The oldest English clubs were merely informal periodic gatherings of friends for the purpose of dining or drinking. These early social clubs eventually transitioned into permanent institutions with a fixed "club house" often a tavern. Today "member only" social clubs in London and New York are often the sole key to infiltrating the cities most exclusive events.

2. Who joins Campoverde?

Campoverde members bring together a large variety of backgrounds, careers and general interests. Many of our members find that their professional lives leave them little time or avenues to meet interesting like-minded people. Some are very new to the city and frustrated in their attempts to make friends or network. Others felt they had become the only unattached person in their social circle and shy from enjoying activities alone. Our members are discerning individuals who want more out of life than the mundane. They want a comfortable no stress environment to explore new associations and activities.

3. What are the ages and marital status of the members?

They are mostly 30s through 50s. With a good-sized turnout at each activity, gravitating towards others of similar age range is easy. The majorities are single, but we have a number of couples who have joined or became couples after joining.

4. Can I join alone?

Yes! Almost all of our members thus far have joined on their own, and without knowing anyone else in the club. A Campoverde Social Team Member is present at each activity, introducing members to each other and facilitating interaction. Our members often mention the sense of community that comes from belonging to Campoverde. Friendships naturally occur from the momentum of the club, and through the interactivity of the events. Our activities feel more like a group of "friends of friends" going out together than it does a disconnected crowd of strangers

5. What If I am shy around new people?

The acceptance from their peers that most new people experience when they become a member of Campoverde is enough to bring even those who are shy right out of their shell! We've watched members who were initially reserved become to outgoing and really excited about life, simply because they feel included and comfortable from the first day they join.

6.How do I know I will fit in?

Our club boasts a membership of so many types of people that everyone finds members with whom they connect. Whatever your personality type is, whatever your interests are, you'll find people like you here. And since you sign up for activities that pique your interests, you are certain to find others at those events with the same interests as you.

7. What Are the Membership Fees?

Our membership fees comparable to many local health clubs and much lower than the high priced New York or London Clubs that offer the same type of venue.

8. How Many People Attend Each Event?

Certain activities are best with 15 to 20 people; others are better suited at 25. Most events fall in this range, with the exception of evening social drop bys, which usually have up to 50 people.
