Sangria camp
Byline: Kerry Moore

Campoverde is a 300-member social club located in the heart of Kitsilano.
Romantic interiors of gilded gold, red velvet and soft candlelight support
a meeting place where the only rule is -- you have to socialize. Hosts help
break the ice and make the introductions. Monthly events are organized and
people decide to join -- or not -- after two "testing" visits.
Info: www.campoverde.ca or 604-734-1660. Get in the mood with its great
social mixer, sangria.

Hot Night:
Potentially every night. If the house dating service ($200 membership/$20
per month maintenance) delivers.
The Drink:
Wine bars equal wine. It goes well with getting-to-know-you chatting.
The Look:
Even though this singles social club prides itself on a no-pressure ambience,
like it or not, Campoverde is still a dress-to-impress situation.
And while we're not talking about women showing up in Bachelor-roses-ceremony
decolletage and pick-me! hemlines, this hangout serves up an ample dose
of what we call foolproof chic: sexy separates like liquid satin blouses
and pencil skirts, conversation-piece accessories and always a mirrored
compact on standby. Note: avoid the chocolate kiss martini if you're
wearing a white pantsuit royale.
Celebrity Sighting:
Discretion is the rule here.
